Central Indiana Alliance for Health (CIA4H) knows how to measure that the different healthcare plans/providers deliver care accurately and fairly, and then we make that information available to the public. Our organization and the groups reporting the scores are independent third-parties, yet we still make sure that the data we collect is audited – the information isn’t just accepted as is from the provider.
Our work is guided by four core principles:
- transparency in the measurement process so both doctors and patients can trust the data;
- consumer and provider input into the process to help ensure that information is meaningful to consumers and fair to doctors;
- independent verification to provide assurances that programs are fair and valid; and
- maintaining nationwide consistency of measures so that “good health care” means the same thing when compared with other states.
